The Sewing Answer Book – A Must for Every Sewer
2June 26, 2013 by sewgonestitching
This little book has become a staple in my sewing room. It’s become my “go-to” quick reference for sewing – and I use it all the time (even though I would consider myself an experienced sewer).
I recently used “The Sewing Answer Book” to refresh my memory on sewing darts while making My Perfect Dress. I loved that I could find what I wanted to know very quickly – and I was given instructions for two separate dart techniques. Being able to choose which technique to use was pretty refreshing.
The size of this book is perfect! It’s small enough to take anywhere measuring only 4 1/2″ x 6 3/8″. I’m shocked at how much useful information is packed into this chubby little reference. I would recommend “The Sewing Answer Book” to all sewers regardless of skill level. Beginners will have a ton of knowledge at their fingertips and experienced sewers will enjoy the ability to quickly find their answer.
The Sewing Answer Book, is written by Barbara Weiland Talbert and published by Storey Publishing. Visit Storey’s website www.storey.com to learn more about and browse through many more sewing and quilting related books.

I can not understand the self threading feature in my Janome SUV1122. Help?
Hi Marlene, Our best advice would be to return to the dealer where you purchased your machine for a demonstration on how to thread the 1122. This is not a Shop at Home model, but the threading is very similar. Your manual will have a guide for threading too.
